We Love Because He First Loved Us. ~ 1 John 4:19

For nearly 13 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most compassionate individuals on the planet. I have had a front row seat to miracles and have personally witnessed lives saved, healed, restored and transformed. God continues to amaze me each and every day that I get to serve in this ministry.

Like many of our clients, I know personally the fear and shame that accompanies an unplanned pregnancy. I know what it is like to contemplate an abortion due to overwhelming fear... it’s traumatizing really. The feeling of panic and isolation. The thought of letting loved ones down. The end of your life as you know it.

If left in this state, women are driven, in desperation, towards the deepest of human emotions - survival and self-preservation. It is from that place, the place of survival, that a woman makes her decision... many times choosing abortion.

Therein lies the importance for a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy to find a safe haven like Hands of Hope. A place where she can sit and be safe...where she can have time to process her feelings and emotions. Where people listen and ask the right questions.

During one of the scariest times in my life I was embraced by people who showed me grace and unconditional love. It was love that gave me the courage to continue the pregnancy and see beyond my fear. It was love that pointed me to Jesus, who saved me and transformed me. This is why I have dedicated my life’s work to caring for women and children in this capacity. As 1 John 4:19 says, “We love because He first loved us.”
