Dear Life Advocate,
Every woman has a dream. This includes those who come to one of our centers facing an unplanned pregnancy and considering abortion.
Fearing she was pregnant, Sarah googled keywords “abortion clinic” and because we compete online for the top spot on Google in order to reach young women like Sarah, Hands of Hope came up on her screen. She made an appointment and found herself walking through our doors.
Sarah once dreamed of owning her own coffee truck, however life took an unexpected turn and her dreams nearly became a distant memory. She shared that she was a stripping for a living, had a previous abortion and had lost custody of two children. She was so afraid of being pregnant again and losing her income.
Sarah’s boyfriend who accompanied her, looked tired and worn from life’s circumstances. He shared, “I don’t feel we are prepared to be parents.”
When Sarah had her ultrasound she was shocked to see a very active 15 week old baby. She was contemplating abortion but agreed to come back and meet with us once more before her final decision. Before she and her boyfriend left we were able to share the love of Jesus with them. We told them that they were loved and had value – no matter the decisions that were made in the past. We told them we believed in them and that God had a plan regarding this pregnancy!
After they left, we printed the baby’s sonogram picture and hung it up in our “prayer room” to pray over. We even named the little one Cappuccino because of the dream mommy once had of owning her own coffee business.
Sarah didn’t come back in for her follow-up appointment, but we continued reaching out to her and we continued praying! Five weeks later Sarah arrived at our doorstep seeking prenatal care. She had chosen life!!!!!
At Hands of Hope we embrace, enlighten and empower women to choose life and keep on dreaming.
... And we too have a dream... a dream in which all mommies, like Cappuccino’s mom, choose life. It costs approximately $1,500 to save a life at Hands of Hope and we need your help.
