“Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” ― Aristotle
As Aristotle so wisely noted, educating the hearts of people, not just their minds, is key. The heart of a person drives their belief system, their feelings and their behavior. For this reason, the goal of the Hands of Hope Education team is to educate hearts and minds to value all life, starting with their own.
In our schools our BreakDown Tucson team provides a 60-minute performance created to educate, inspire, and challenge young people to make the healthiest choices for their futures and live lives without regrets. Utilizing young people who are role models to their peers, BreakDown Tucson blends drama, hip-hop dance, spoken word and real life stories with video and cutting edge sound and lighting to create a life-altering experience. Throughout the course of the performance BreakDown will address issues that young people are dealing with including sex, teen pregnancy, alcohol, drugs, suicide, STD’s, bullying, depression and more.
