A Beautiful Christmas

Post Written: December 1, 2016

Dear Life Advocate,

This Christmas season we reflect upon the hope of our salvation that came to us through an unplanned pregnancy. It is our HOPE and FAITH in Jesus Christ that compels us to care for women facing unplanned pregnancies including women who have had previous abortions.

According to the AZ Department of Health 2015 Abortion report, 37% of women having abortions have had at least 1 previous abortion. Mothers are choosing to have some of their children and choosing to abort others. It is a sobering thought and yet we must not lose hope.

This was the case for a recent client named Jill. Jill had an abortion this past July because of pressure from her best friend and boyfriend. She told us that she regretted her decision and said that she even told the doctor at an abortion clinic to stop the procedure because she “had changed her mind,” but by then the doctor said, “it’s over.”

A couple months later, facing another positive pregnancy test Jill was scared to say the least, but from the beginning she told her boyfriend that she would not have another abortion.

During our time together, our staff shared the plan of salvation with Jill and she accepted the gift of eternal life! She accepted the hope that only comes from knowing the One who created her.

Jill shared that she is choosing life believing that this baby is part of God’s plan for her given her pain and grief in her loss of her first baby through abortion. We also offered Jill support for her previous abortion when she is ready to begin that journey.

Oh, what a Christmas this will be…for this young woman.

A beautiful Christmas thanks to Difference Makers like you!

My Christmas prayer is that you’ll help it happen again for others like Jill by giving a special Christmas gift to Hands of Hope today.

I can’t think of a more important Christmas gift. Let me hear from you quickly. Your most generous gift today will help us offer hope to many others like Jill.

I wish you a warm and wonderful Christmas. Thank you and God bless you!
